It’s here. The Superbowl of the beauty industry, also known as Black Friday/Cyber Monday weekend. Whether you’re looking to replenish your staple hair products or are on the hunt for a new skincare routine, I can almost guarantee you that there is some sort of sale happening that will allow you to do just that. Team MC has been diligently finding only the best deals worth talking about, and as we all fight off the post-holiday fatigue, I’m here to do what I do best: talk about perfume.

Founded in 2006, Byredo is one of the first niche fragrance houses that I encountered. Since that first fateful sniff years ago, I’ve built quite a collection for my perfume wardrobe. All of this is to say: I’m pretty much a Byredo expert, and a ton of the formulas are on sale this weekend.

If you’ve been itching to refresh your fragrances or are simply looking to finally start your collection from the maison, keep reading for the scents that I think you absolutely need to start with.

From the unexpected floral that caught me by surprise, to the most underrated perfume from the entire line, these are the best Byredo perfumes to pick up this Black Friday/ Cyber Monday weekend.

    Animalique Eau De Parfum

    Byredo
Animalique Eau De Parfum (Was $330)
    $264
    SHOP NOW

This is my favorite perfume from Byredo. It starts off crisp and uplifting, thanks to notes of bergamot, lemon, and mimosa. As it dries, it turns into the most sultry, velvety, chypre fragrance. As the name suggests, it’s a little animalique because of the white suede note, which, to my nose, translates to a ton of musk. That being said, the drydown is perfectly unisex, and when you layer it with a lighter, more vanilla gourmand? One-way ticket to scent heaven.

    Bal D'afrique Eau De Parfum

    Byredo
Bal D'afrique Eau De Parfum (Was $235)
    $200
    SHOP NOW

Bal D'Afrique is one of the more popular scents from the line, but don’t let that stop you from adding it to your collection. It’s a beautiful woody floral that is perfect for daily wear but doesn’t smell basic. It has one of my favorite floral notes of all time, violet, combined with others like African marigold, bucchu, and more. By the time it dries down, you’re left with a sweet, woody scent.

    Blanche Absolu De Parfum

    Byredo
Blanche Absolu De Parfum (Was $290)
    $247
    SHOP NOW

Earlier this year, the brand launched the absolu version of another popular fragrance from the line: Blanche. The skin-like laundry scent is the epitome of fresh and clean-smelling, and this new version adds additional floral notes, black pepper, and additional woods like ambroxan and dry cashmeran. The result is a flanker that is a little sweeter and more aquatic, but has a slight kick to it. Perfect for the person who wants to smell like they literally just stepped out of the shower.

    Gypsy Water Eau De Parfum

    Byredo
Gypsy Water Eau De Parfum (Was $235)
    $200
    SHOP NOW

Gypsy Water is one of the first perfumes I ever smelled from Byredo, and I love it just as much today as I did then. It has some of my favorite notes of all time: incense, orris, amber, and it opens with the most gorgeous citrusy kick. To me, it pulls a little creamy, and the result is akin to a sort of lemon meringue pie that’s been torched to perfection.

    Super Cedar Eau De Parfum

    Byredo
Super Cedar Eau De Parfum (Was $235)
    $200
    SHOP NOW

Another sleeper hit from Byredo is none other than Super Cedar. As the name implies, this is a very cedarwood-heavy fragrance, and the heart of this fragrance is encompassed entirely by the note. Still, it’s balanced by others like rose and silk musk, and the result is a perfume that smells like a sweet, slightly fluffy version of freshly-chopped wood.

    Alto Astral Eau De Parfum

    Byredo
Alto Astral Eau De Parfum (Was $235)
    $188
    SHOP NOW

Coconut isn’t typically a note that I’m drawn to, but Alto Astral made me a convert. It opens with coconut water and aldehydes for a super fresh, refreshing first sniff. As it dries, you start to get the jasmine, musks, amber, and woods that make this perfume the masterpiece that it truly is.

    Mojave Ghost Eau De Parfum

    Byredo
Mojave Ghost Eau De Parfum (Was $235)
    $200
    SHOP NOW

I won’t lie to you: It took a while for Mojave Ghost to grow on me. But now that it has, it’s actually one of my top three fragrances from the entire house. While I don’t get an authentic Jamaican nesberry note as the brand purports, what I do get is a floral, musky, woody combination that feels like something the coolest person you know would wear.

Rose of No Man's Land Absolu

    Byredo
Rose of No Man's Land Absolu (Was $290)
    $247
    SHOP NOW

This is the Byredo fragrance that took me most by surprise. I’m a notorious floral perfume hater, so I didn’t have high hopes when I first smelled this new version of one of the brand’s cult-classic scents. I’m happy to report that I was completely wrong. I immediately picked up on one of my favorite notes, saffron, and it only got better from there. Pink pepper, black raspberry accord, and peony were a few of the additional notes that greeted my nose, and I promptly fell into a rose-scented trance that I need everyone to experience at least once.

    Eyes Closed Eau De Parfum

    Byredo
Eyes Closed Eau De Parfum (Was $235)
    $200
    SHOP NOW

Spicy perfume lovers, step to the front. Eyes Closed in a cinnamon and cardamom masterpiece, that feels like being wrapped in a warm blanket during the holidays, surrounded by family. Carrot, ginger, and orris butter heart notes give way to woody and smoky patchouli and papyrus. The result? A spiced scent that bucks tradition in favor of a cooler, more elevated take on the traditional scent profile.

    Black Saffron Eau De Parfum

    Byredo
Black Saffron Eau De Parfum (Was $235)
    $188
    SHOP NOW

Black saffron is in a similarly spicy scent family as Eyes Closed, but it leans a bit more fruity thanks to a raspberry base note. What makes this fragrance work so well is that the brand juxtaposes a bevy of floral notes like cristal rose and black violet, as well as saffron and juniper berries, for a more well-rounded, slightly velvety finish.

Vanille Antique Night Veils Extrait De Parfum 2.37 Oz.

    Byredo
Vanille Antique Night Veils Extrait De Parfum (Was $465)
    $395
    SHOP NOW

Vanille Antique is from the brand’s extraits collection and, as you can expect, is the definition of a beast-mode perfume. You’ll first encounter florals, amber, and cashmere woods before getting to the showstopper: a mouthwatering Madagascar vanilla bean. This perfume is sultry, sexy, and smells like power.

Cuir Sellier Night Veils Extrait De Parfum 2.37 Oz.

    Byredo
Cuir Sellier Night Veils Extrait De Parfum (Was $465)
    $395
    SHOP NOW

My wishlist fragrance is from the same extraits collection, and it is none other than Cuir Sellier. I don’t know what excites me more about the woody perfume, the black tea note, the leather accord, or the tobacco leaves, but I obsess over it constantly and will likely be grabbing a bottle of my own during this Black Friday and Cyber Monday weekend.
