Angelina Jolie Has Reportedly Hired the Real-Life Olivia Pope to Help With Divorce Proceedings

"It's handled," — Judy Smith to Angie, probably.

Nearly two weeks after Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt, the actress has added one of the most powerful crisis managers in the country to her team: Judy Smith. People is reporting that Angelina's team is being consulted by Smith, who of course is the real life inspiration behind Scandal's Olivia Pope. According to a source, "Judy and her firm have a long history of handling issues that have unfortunately garnered too much attention in the public eye, and she knows how to push towards resolutions that are swift and discreet." As People notes, Smith heads her own crisis management firm called Smith & Company and has worked with the likes of Michael Vick, Paula Deen, and Monica Lewinsky.

Meanwhile, TMZ reports that Angelina and Brad have made some progress in their divorce proceedings. Sources tell the site that discussions on "custody and visitation" and "temporary support for Angelina and the kids" are close to being resolved amid the L.A. Count Department of Children and Family Services' ongoing investigation of the child abuse allegations from a private plane ride earlier this month.

Angelina is being represented by divorce attorney Laura Wasser, whose lengthy client list includes Johnny Depp, Jennifer Garner, Maria Shriver, and Kim Kardashian. Brad is working with family law attorney Lance Spiegel, who has worked with Eva Longoria, Charlie Sheen, and Heather Locklear.
