Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom Are Postponing Their Wedding
They were planning to get married in December.

It’s easy to flip through winter wedding color schemes (opens in new tab) on Pinterest and plan your dream wedding regardless of whether you’re even dating anyone (hi, it me), but a lot of people do decide to pull the trigger and tie the knot in December. Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom were in the same boat, and reportedly planned a whole winter wedding of their own—but they're now postponing it.
Before you get ahead of yourself, though, it doesn’t actually sound that dramatic.
Us Weekly (opens in new tab)’s insiders say in order to get the venue they wanted, Perry and Bloom had to tweak their wedding plans.
“They changed the timing due to the location they want,” said the source. “They’re beyond in love.”
Apparently, they’re planning not one but two events, so a lot is going into it. “They’re going to have one local wedding party and the other will be a destination wedding party,” the source added.
Bloom proposed (opens in new tab) to Perry on Valentine’s Day this year with a $5 million pink ring (opens in new tab) after they started dating in 2016. But they’re in no rush down the aisle: Perry said part of the reason they’re fine with taking a more leisurely approach (opens in new tab) is because they’ve both been married before. (Perry was married to Russell Brand from 2010 to 2012 and Bloom to Miranda Kerr (opens in new tab) from 2010 to 2013.)

“I think we’re doing really great, and we’re really doing the hard work laying a beautiful foundation before we start to build a massive house,” she said during an interview with the KIIS Kyle and Jackie O Show earlier this year.
“It’s important for us to do the work before we go and take this really big next step. We were both married before and it’s not the same in your 30s."
