Earlier this week, news broke that supermodel Gigi Hadid was expecting her first child with boyfriend Zayn Malik, and although the couple is yet to comment on the news publicly, the model's mother just confirmed it. Speaking to Dutch broadcasting station RTL Boulevard, Yolanda Hadid said she was feeling "very blessed" about having a new member of the family on its way—in September, apparently!
"Of course, we are so excited," she said. "I'm excited to become a grandmother in September especially after I lost my mom so recently, but this is the beauty of life, one soul leaves us and a new one comes in. We feel very blessed." Hadid also admitted that she was "still shocked" about the exciting news.
Yolanda, along with Bella, Gigi and Zayn, is currently self-isolating at the family's ranch in Pennsylvania, where last week they celebrated Gigi's 25th birthday, and have been sharing plenty of snaps of their time on the farm. Eagle-eyed fans realized after the announcement that Gigi's 25th birthday had doubled as a gender reveal, with the balloons having blue and pink streamers and a gift from Bella reading "Hello little one." It's been reported that Gigi's baby is a girl.
Speaking with Harper's Bazaar last month, the model admitted that she has loved getting back to nature there, where they have been horse riding, cooking, gardening and doing yoga: "The farm has really made me remember, and bring back to my life, my most simple pleasures."
Gigi has been active on social media since the rumors began about her and Zayn's exciting news, but they are yet to directly address the announcement.
