- Finding Freedom, a new biography about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, is dropping on August 11.
- A new excerpt details Prince Harry and Prince William's feud, and William's rude attitude towards Meghan.
Time to dust off ye olde "royal feud" between Prince Harry and Prince William, because Finding Freedom—a new biography about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex—is going in.
An excerpt of the book published in the Sunday Times (via The Hollywood Reporter) details how Prince Harry was upset by William's attitude while he was dating Meghan. Authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand write that Harry wasn't here for William encouraging him to "take as much time as you need to get to know this girl," and a source close to Wills says he didn't want his brother to be "blindsided by lust."
The excerpt claims that "In those last two words, ‘this girl’ Harry heard the tone of snobbishness that was anathema to his approach to the world," and that "to remove Meghan from the equation, Harry was tired of the dynamic that had become established between him and his older brother."
On top of William's snobbish and unwelcoming attitude, senior courtiers reportedly said incredibly inappropriate things about Meghan. Per Finding Freedom, one courtier said "there’s just something about her I don’t trust" and another called her "Harry’s showgirl." Truly WTF.
At this point, you might be wondering what Meghan and Harry think of Finding Freedom's revelations. The couple released a statement through their rep, saying they didn't participate in the book: "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were not interviewed and did not contribute to Finding Freedom. This book is based on the authors’ own experiences as members of the royal press corps and their own independent reporting."
