Katy Perry Shares an Empowering Video of Herself Breast Pumping

Katy Perry is a very new mom to baby Daisy, but that doesn't mean she's holding back from getting out the vote. In an empowering new video shared to her Instagram account, the singer can be seen breast pumping, saying "Pumped to vote" (I see what you did there, Katy!).

In the footage, Katy is sitting on a chair facing away from the camera wearing pajama bottoms, a dressing gown around her waist, and a nude bandeau top. She then turns to look at the lens, and a breast pump is visible. But the purpose of the video wasn't just to normalize breastfeeding and everything that goes along with it—it was also part of a compilation video led by Jane Fonda, encouraging people to register to vote in the upcoming election.

Posting the video to Instagram, Katy wrote, "Okay so @orlandobloom and I have different views on what it means to get pumped these days," along with the cow emoji. "But whoever said pumping isn’t a sport... I’d like to twist their nipples clockwise for one week straight."

"We’re getting in shape for the race of our lives this November and it has never been more important to #ExerciseThatVote," she continued, encouraging people to check their registration status as the deadlines loom.

Katy is joined in the voting video by Amy Schumer, Kerry Washington, Ashley Benson, Vanessa Hudgens and more. As well, of course, as OG workout queen Jane Fonda.

"I [don't] even live in the USA but after this video I want to vote!!!" wrote one person. "A politically vocal mom👏👏" added another.

Katy Perry and her fiancé Orlando Bloom welcomed their baby girl, Daisy Dove Bloom, into the world on August 26, and the couple are clearly already smitten with their new addition.

"We are floating with love and wonder from the safe and healthy arrival of our daughter," the new parents said in a statement released by UNICEF, a charity for which Katy and Orlando are both Goodwill Ambassadors.

Since then, Katy has been posting about her motherhood experience. One particular highlight: When the 35-year-old showed off her MTV VMAs "red carpet look" from the comfort of her home on Instagram, and she went for full real-life-new-mama-chic: Katy could be seen wearing some comfortable high-waisted underwear over her still-present bump (because it doesn't just disappear like magic as soon as the baby is out!) along with a breast pump bra.
