Irina Shayk Makes A Strong Case For Denim Chaps

Irina Shayk knows how to make a street-style statement.

On Tuesday, the model was seen masked up, out and about in New York City, wearing denim chap-like pants with Dr. Marten Derby shoes. For those not familiar with the design, chaps are traditionally a belt and legging hybrid with origins in Spain that are made perfectly to withstand the trials and tribulations of horse back riding. Irina's paneled jeans from Vivienne Westwood's Fall 2021 collection, however, are designed to only look like the popular riding style.

The mom-of-one paired the unreleased zipper-detailed pants with a sold-out mesh bodysuit from SKIMS and a '90s-style leather jacket by Parisian label, Nour Hammour. For a pop of color, the model opted for a pair of red translucent sunglasses from Linda Farrow's collection with The Attico and Manu Atelier's coveted 'Cylinder' bag in a similar hue. Though the look was relatively pared back, there's no doubt that it makes a statement.

Shayk has routinely kept her style game at 100 during a year when many could barely change out of their pjs. Some of her more recent ensembles included a vintage tee that paid homage to pop-icon Britney Spears (in what we can only assume is the catwalk-fixture's signal of support of the star during her on-going conservatorship hearing). Irina even pulled out an oversized DMX t-shirt to pay her respects to the late rapper, who passed away earlier this month. Thankfully, the paps have been there to capture each look along the way.
