Despite being in the public eye on behalf of Hillary Clinton's campaign this year, we haven't seen a Katy Perry album since she dropped Prism three years ago, in 2013. Since then, the singer has been writing hits for pop divas such as Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, and Iggy Azalea. However, Katy's most recent Instagram Stories video might be a hint that she's back in the studio, working on some new music of her own.
This weekend, the singer Instagrammed a clip of herself in what appears to be a music studio. One of her teeth is blacked out as a joke, and the caption reads, "I drew on my tooth with a sharpie for fun, and now it won't come off." (Oh, Katy...) But we're more interested in what's playing in the background. For a few short seconds, you can hear the fun, upbeat track—and it's obvious that it's Perry's voice singing the vocals.
She also posted a second video that has a slower song playing in the background. The video is captioned, "We've got another one! INSTRUMENTS! VOCALS!!"
Fingers crossed that another Katy Perry album is on the way!
