A Massive Castle Is Being Built on the Set Of 'Game of Thrones' Season 8

The perfect place for Cersei's last stand, perhaps?

According to reports, the next season of Game Of Thrones is set to feature a massive new castle. The news comes from Watchers on the Wall who claim a castle-like construction is underway at a production studio in Northern Ireland, where most of the Westeros scenes are set.

Apparently, the construction was originally thought to be battlements for an existing structure, then other parts were added to form a structure roughly the size of Winterfell.

But, speculation is also rife that this may be the Red Keep, a part of King's Landing overlooking Blackwater Bay. The perfect place for Cersei's last stand, perhaps?

Sadly, it's looking like we'll have to wait until early 2019 to find out. But whatever happens, it looks likely that a bloody, big, and brutal battle is about to take place, possibly outside of this brand new castle.

We can't wait.
