Friends! Last week was all about stylish ways to wear polarizing colors (Orange! Purple! Yellow!) during the summer. This week, I’m going the exact opposite route to consider my reformed (or current) goth girlies and discuss how to wear all black when it’s extra hot out. There’s something I find extremely—hate to use this word, but I must—chic about it.
My tricks for pulling it off successfully? Show some skin, mix textures, and add interesting accessories to keep your outfit from looking too boring. Let’s get into it.
At Work
It may be 90 degrees outside, but it’ll be a cool 62 inside (if your office is anything like mine). Manage the temperature difference with breezy separates that still allow you to cover up.
At a Wedding
Forget what you heard: You one hundred percent can wear black to a wedding, especially in dressier fabrics like satin and chiffon.
When You're Off Duty
For the wonderful weekend moments when there’s not much on the itinerary—aside from grocery shopping and meeting up with friends for coffee.
For a Night Out
Release your wiggle in an outfit and accessories only your closest girls would understand.
On a Date
Don’t overthink it! No need to wear a specific “power” color—go with what makes you feel your most comfortable.
