Spring 2025's Candy-Coated Shoe Color Trends Prove Neutrals Are Overrated
Step into a sweet new season with playful pastels and bold, bright hues that will convert even the staunchest minimalists.

My footwear collection is—dare I say—a bit basic, drenched in neutral shades that reflect a minimalist aesthetic. While there’s nothing wrong with practical styles like elevated black slingbacks or relaxed white sneakers, the shoe color trends for spring and summer 2025 are drawing me to the brighter side.
An array of candy-saturated shoes emerged across countless Spring 2025 runways, but several in particular made a lasting impression on me. At Chloé, creative director Chemena Kamali doused squishy jelly sandals in a polished powder blue pigment. Prada showcased pointy satin pumps plastered in earthy sage green tones. Meanwhile, as Swiss label Bally, lustrous loafers and chunky T-strap sandals were covered in deep, rich hues of cherry red. Pale pink and butter yellow, both reigning favorites among the fashion set, are other shades that found their way into this season's shoe color trend cycle. Explore a collection of shoes that fit the mentioned color trend categories—from elegant ballet flats that will seamlessly complement your spring work uniforms to stylish sneakers that will pair well with just about any breezy athleisure outfit.
Powder Blue
A dose of powder blue will brighten up any ensemble.
During the Spring 2025 fashion month circuit, Gabriela Hearst, Chanel, Emporio Armani, and Chloé all drew inspiration from the sea and sky. Pure shades of blue breathed new life into timeless footwear styles like cushioned sneakers, penny loafers, Mary Janes, and barely-there sandals. Below, the variety of styles emanates similar celestial and nautical designs.
Sage Green
While brat green undoubtedly ruled 2024, designers are taking a softer approach this year by way of dusty sage.
It’s not surprising that sage green has become a beloved shoe color trend among designers like Dries Van Noten, Rabanne, Acne Studios, and Prada. After all, this earthy hue is a timeless pastel that always shines as soon as spring temperatures begin to rise. Style your sage green shoes however you prefer, but I’d suggest pairing them with a neutral look, like an all-white outfit.
Pale Pink
Channel your inner child with pale pink shoes that boast a major balletcore vibe.
I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again: the girlhood aesthetic is here to stay. Labels like Giambattista Valli, Fendi, Ferragamo, and Chloé prove just that by immersing their shoes in delicate shades of pale pink. Crafted with refined silhouettes and sleek materials, the shoes showcased here put a sophisticated twist on the youthful trend.
Cherry Red
No, you're not seeing things—cherry red is indeed everywhere.
Bally, Balmain, Dries Van Noten, and Stella McCartney all chose to paint the town cherry red this season. However, instead of embracing bright shades of this juicy color, these designers leaned towards darker hues that almost border on burgundy. If you have a taste for this fruity color, these shoes will certainly satisfy your craving.
Butter Yellow
Butter yellow is back for another spin, and designers can't seem to get enough of the tasty shade.
Scattered across the runways of Lacoste, Chanel, Miu Miu, and Prabal Gurung, butter yellow ranked high among this season’s selection of almost edible color trends. And if there’s one thing for sure, it’s that this viral hue isn’t fading away anytime soon. Embrace the look with boat shoes, ballet flats, slingbacks, and wedges that will instantly elevate your collection of spring footwear.
