There's something about Olivia Wilde. Always TV's bad-girl bisexual (The O.C.) or doctor behaving badly (House), never the ingenue. She carries in her DNA a sex appeal that, at first glance, seems slightly sinister. Even in the throw-on jersey maxi dress Wilde wore to the set of our cover shoot, she cut the figure of a woman from whom wives hide their husbands. With that in mind, the MC fashion team set about crafting looks that would transform Wilde from intimidating seductress to enviable screen siren. The actress was shocked when not a single color among the broad spectrum of jewel-toned gowns failed to flatter — a credit to MC's fashion editor-at-large, Alison Edmond. As every dress brought the star more delight (peaking with an emerald-green sheath by Ralph Lauren), Wilde's giddiness betrayed her stone-cold-fox exterior: She's a girl's girl, after all.
