Ascent of a Woman

The morning of Olivia Wilde's second Marie Claire cover shoot, Jason Sudeikis teased his then girlfriend (now fiancée) that he'd actually graced the cover of Marie Claire first. (His role in Horrible Bosses landed him a guest spot on the July 2011 issue, while Wilde posed for MC the following month.) Back then, she discussed her seemingly hopeless search for love — but this time around, it was clear her search was over. Wilde arrived at the Hotel on Rivington penthouse appearing like a shadow of black and gray in J Brand Jeans, a Vince sweater, and a fedora. She sipped Organic Avenue green juice in between spoonfuls of a coconut milk parfait while swooning over her Saturday Night Live star and their future together. Moments later, she was draped in Saint Laurent and Givenchy, opting to go braless and barefoot in some looks. The shoot wrapped early — she's a natural — and she hopped across town grinning the grin of someone crazy in love. —Ashley Ross
