Diana Movie Poster Pulled From Outside Paris Tunnel

The ill-advised Diana movie poster that sparked outrage was taken down.

The Diana movie poster that sparked outrage for its ill-advised placement outside the Paris tunnel where the late Princess of Wales died was removed earlier this week.

A poster for the film, which stars Naomi Watts, was placed close to the entrance of the Pont de l'Alma tunnel in Paris where the princess died in 1997. French distributor Le Pacte said that they had received a request that the poster be removed on Monday afternoon. By Monday evening, it was taken down.

The 4 feet by 6 feet poster was placed directly across from the Flame of Liberty, which had become an unofficial memorial to the princess. The poster problem was the latest in a string of rough moments for the film. Last month, the British press tore apart the film after a private screening, with one reviewer writing that Diana "has died another awful death" with the release of the biopic.
