The 2016 Golden Globes take place on Sunday, and for most of us, the ceremony is characterized by glamorous red carpet moments, hosts that are *actually* entertaining, and a more boozy/laid-back atmosphere compared to its formal counterpart, the Oscars. Celebs of the big and small screen alike arrive in their designer best and spend the evening drinking and socializing at round tables as accolades are handed out. A night of true Hollywood glitz, right? Not according to Cate Blanchett.
"They say it's more fun because people drink and get to talk during these shows," Jimmy Kimmel suggests, voicing our collective perception of the ceremony.
"Well no, it's like a mosh pit, actually," Blanchett informs. "It gets very sweaty down there with those tables. It's like, if there's not enough ketchup on your table you literally lean and get DiCaprio's ketchup from the table behind. You're all very tightly packed. It's quite sweaty."
So there you have it: the Golden Globes are actually just a sweaty, celebrity mosh pit—not that we can even for a moment imagine Cate Blanchett, immaculate queen of the red carpet, ever producing a bead of sweat. (Whereas we'd probably perspire uncontrollably if we were to just breathe the same air as Leonardo DiCaprio, let alone sit so close that we could borrow his condiments.)
If the body heat issue weren't enough, see what more Blanchett has to say about the bathroom situation in the full clip below:
