American treasure Channing Tatum has a role in the new Coen Brothers movie Hail, Caesar! that involves tap-dancing (previously seen in the film's trailer) and singing, something he's never done on camera before. You may now view part of his big musical number "No Dames" in a new promo clip, and you should do so immediately because it is a good reminder that there are still things to live for in this bleak world. In the song, Channing laments the fact that there will be no dames at sea once the sailors ship out, which sucks for him but is good for you because now you won't be jealous. Still, if you wanted to pull a Mulan and join the voyage, nobody would judge you.
In an interview with Vulture last month, Channing said this was "the first time" he's ever sung in front of people, and that singing to his daughter usually results in tears. "When I was younger, just a dumb kid, and Usher came out, I was like, 'Oh, man, I want to be the white Usher,'" Channing said. "Then I was like, 'Oh, right, I can't sing.'" This is obviously not true, but it's cute that he doesn't know how perfect he is.
