A truly spectacular thing happened tonight at the Screen Actors Guild Awards: Exes Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt both won awards AND had the photographed reunion the public had been coveting for years. Pitt grabbed Aniston's HAND. PDA, people!!!!
It comes after Aniston was seen smiling during Pitt's SAG acceptance speech for his Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role (he made a marriage joke in it, and her reaction was captured), and moments after E! tweeted footage of Pitt watching Aniston's own acceptance speech for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series backstage.
Pitt and Aniston are friends these days. Us Weekly went so far as to report in December that the two have sparks, although they're totally platonic. “Brad and Jen have a wonderful connection that might seem flirtatious at times,” a source told the outlet. “They dig each other’s sense of humor and have an infectious energy when they’re together, but they insist things are purely platonic and nothing more than that.”
Pitt additionally spoke about how he was game to do a photo with Aniston on the Golden Globes red carpet. The world just had to wait until the SAG Awards for it to happen.
Entertainment Tonight asked him if he'd be up for having a public reunion with her. "I'll run into Jen, she's a good friend," he said, making a little joke about how much everyone wants it to happen. "The second most important reunion of her year? I understand," he added, clarifying, "That was a play on Friends. They were saying that."
