If you're familiar with James Bond, you're also familiar with Q—Bond's nerdy, tech-loving frenemy who sets him up with cool swag like pens that are secretly guns. You know the guy. But spoiler alert: said guy is, in real life, a girl.

While giving a keynote speech at the Women in IT Awards, Alex Younger (the head of Britain's Secret Service) said that in real life Q is, in fact, a woman.

"If any of you would like to join us, the real-life Q is looking forward to meeting you," he reportedly said (opens in new tab). "And I'm pleased to report that the real-life Q is a woman."

Not only is this an awesome fact (get yours, IRL Q!), it's a reminder that Hollywood needs to catch up with the realities of what women can, and do achieve.
