Olivia Rodrigo may be only 18 years old, but she knows a thing or two about making a stunning statement at an awards show—and the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards red carpet is no different, it seems. The singer and star of High School Musical, The Musical: The Series showed up to the pre-show in Brooklyn, New York City wearing a hot pink and orange ombre gown by Atelier Versace.
The gown was an ode to classic red carpet looks of the past and featured a ruched corset bodice and a fitted satin skirt. The piece actually originally debuted as a part of Versace’s Spring/Summer 2001 runway collection, which is in line with Rodrigo’s penchant for wearing early aughts-inspired pieces. Keeping on theme, Rodrigo accessorized with a pair of hot pink drop earrings that were adorned with oversized butterflies.
Olvia is nominated for five awards tonight and already has won an iconic Moon Man on the red carpet for Push Performance Of The Year. She’s also nominated for Best New Artist, Artist Of The Year, Song Of The Year for “Driver’s License,” and Best Pop Song for “Good 4 U.” Check out her full look below.
