Bragging? More like Katy Perry's making up for decades of women keeping silent about their wages—and more than that, she *ought* to be proud of receiving a bigger paycheck than her male peers.

In an interview with KTU radio Tuesday, the Witness singer addressed speculation around the huge numbers she's pulling as a new American Idol judge, a role that's "been in negotiations for several years."

"I'm really proud that as a woman I got paid," she said. "You know why? I got paid, pretty much, more than any guy that's been on that show. By the way, I love men. So I'm a paid woman and I'm ready for a beautiful man."

Of her judging style on the program, she promised to be less Simon Cowell and more...Simon and Garfunkel.

"The reality is I am polite, but firm and I am super realistic," Perry said about what to expect when she takes a judging chair. "This show is about finding real talent, making people's dreams come true and additionally hearing their stories...I want to see you. I want to hear you. I want to witness you."

I see what you did there.
