The 8 Things You Need to Know From New York Fashion Week: Day 3
Another day, another seriously cool fashion moment.
By The Editors
Rebecca Taylor filled her fall 2014 collection with beautifully layered looks of blues, purples, and greys. "There's nothing more amazing that at the end of the show when the girls in all the looks are doing their finale parade. That's the best for meI get goosebumps," the designer told MC backstage. Our favorite part? The models did their final walk to Destiny's Child's "Bug a Boo."
Model Alla Kostromichova gave us some selfie love backstage before the Hervé Léger show. We're digging the winged eyeliner and sleek, colorful ponytail.
"I think intellectual is the new sexy, and isn't that really cool?" said Jonathan Simkhai at his fall/winter presentation. We've always been fans of Simkhai's brand of cool, and our go-to piece next season will be his 'Simkhai' emblazoned sweatshirt.
We interviewed designer Amy Smilovic before her Tibi collection was sent down the runway. She told us to expect "a really great coat for fall that you could literally sleep in." Looks like she delivered! We're buying 12.
Though the dresses were exquisite, we couldn't help but fawn over these lace booties at Monique Lhuillier. So elegant, yet so badass.
"The Alexander Wang show laid out the fall wardrobe of a futuristic warrior alien with killer boots and perfect shift dresses," MC's social editor Hallie Gould said of the collection. "I couldn't get enoughthe soundtrack, the androgynous hair and makeup, the thick knits. It was incredible."
And you have to check out the epic finale:
A perk to being an editor during Fashion Week is the ability to ride around in completley amazing cars (like the @WOBentley pictured above). Did you know that you can reserve these for special occasions? There really is something to be said for having a gorgeous dress, a decadent pair of shoes, fantastic earrings and then hopping out of a dirty taxi. Your ride, when you need one for events, should fit your style. #newflyingspur
