Amy Adam's Cover Shoot Video
Go behind the scenes of Amy's shoot with Marie Claire.
Hi, I'm Amy Adams and welcome to my Marie Claire photo shoot. We are at Blackman Cruz today which is this amazing furniture store. They have all of these very unique and eclectic pieces that we've been using in the shoot. I love a lot about acting, getting to inhabit other people's lives and really understand the human experience and I feel like it makes me more empathetic and sympathetic to other people. That's probably my favorite thing about it. And craft services. What would I be if I wasn't an actress? Homeless. No, I'm kidding. I love Vivian Lee and the Hitchcock blondes are so understated and so graceful and that was something that I wished to emulate. I've been maturing. I'm really looking at actresses who have created groundwork for a career of longevity. Katharine Hepburn, Meryl Streep, Judi Dench, Jodie Foster. When I signed on to do The Fighter, David O. Russell has sent me 20 pages of the script so I really didn't know the whole character but the first thing was he sent me was a bar fight. He was like, gotta lower your voice. I said, "Lower my voice?" He said, "Yeah, you gotta speak lower, lower, lower," if he wanted me down here like so I sounded tougher, he said watch Raging Bull. You are de Niro, like he didn't want me to be the girl, he wanted me to be the dude and I love that, so, an opportunity to play somebody who honors my tougher side so unlike what people had seen of me but maybe a little more honest, too, a certain side of my personality, whatever. I mean, whatever.
