In case you've been living in a state of deep denial, Hillary Clinton lost the presidency to former reality TV star Donald Trump—a gut-wrenching moment for many women who were #WithHer, including actress Katie Holmes.

"I thought Hillary was going to win this year, and it was such a...it just hurt so badly when she didn't," Holmes said during an interview on SiriusXM. "And I know that it hurt my child so much as a 10-year-old, and it really made me think, 'Oh we have a lot…a long way to go as women.'"

Holmes and her daughter were visibly supportive of Hillary throughout her campaign, and clearly her loss has had an impact on how the actress is raising her daughter. "We have to raise our girls to be very strong, not just for themselves, but to open the doors for other people."
