My Solution for Cold-Weather Blues? Prints and Patterns

Freezing temps call for dopamine dressing.

New York City has been absolutely clobbered by snowstorms this winter, with cloudy skies and freezing temperatures leading the charge for weeks. My solution to navigating winter SADs and survival mode? Dopamine dressing by way of print infusion, as seen on the runways of Dries Van Noten, Balmain, Brandon Maxwell, Michael Kors, and the like.

I’ve seen so much discourse around the lack of whimsy we’re all experiencing lately, and I refuse to fall victim. Whether it’s a statement boot, coat, or bag, the fun is happening somewhere!

Richly Colored Outerwear

Colorful furs are my guilty pleasure every winter, mostly as an indicator of hope for sunny days to come. A printed version elevates outerwear to a level of kitsch that signals both optimism and joy.

Printed Accessories

Colorfully printed toppers are a great way to take a serious look to the edge, especially during dreary morning commutes and blizzard walks to the deli. A leopard captain’s hat and scarf in deep bordeauxs paired with a lip in the same color? Perfection.

A Fun Boot

What better way to stomp through snow than in an interesting boot? Fuzzy, knee-high, or with a heel…it doesn’t matter. We’re showing this weather that we aren’t afraid of it!
