Big Girl in a Skinny World: Online Shopping Picks from Kiyonna

Hello, Ladies,

It seems that slowly but surely we bigger girls are beginning to make our mark on the fashion world. Designers are starting to notice that plus-size women have dollars to spend, and we want to spend them on fabulous clothes just like every other woman. While I have no problem sifting through tons of racks and trying on numerous looks at straight-sized stores, it is wonderful to have a brand cater to our specific needs. One such brand is Kiyonna. Their slogan is Sophisticated Style, Size 10+. The brand is carried in over 70 boutiques in the US, and for those who don’t have a store nearby, online shopping is available. The line mainly consists of great solid-colored pieces with the occasional silhouette cut in a printed fabric. They carry dresses, separates, and an assortment of body shapers.

Some of my favorite looks from the brand can take a fashionable girl just about anywhere. They have a lot to offer in the skirt arena, and I am a sucker for a great pencil skirt. Their Goddess Draped Pencil Skirt is amazing, and it comes in both Black and Sahara Brown. I love when a brand offers multiple colors of a great wardrobe staple, and Kiyonna delivers on this note! If you are looking for a more classic pencil skirt, the Starlet Twill Pencil Skirt is for you. Again, this skirt is available in multiple colors: Carbon Black, Wink Plum, and Urban Minx.

Kiyonna also has multiple tops that really work for the plus-size woman. One of my favorites is their Sultry Ruched Tank. This tank is perfect for flattering the body while concealing the troublesome tummy area.

If you’re attending a wedding this summer, Kiyonna definitely has something for you. For a short option, consider the Alexandra Gathered Dress; available in an array of colors, this ruched frock will be sure to wow your date, friends, and family. If you prefer a longer, more formal dress, the Celine Chiffon Maxi Dress is a great choice. It’s an off-the-shoulder number that still manages to provide some arm coverage (a trouble spot many of you have mentioned to me). The best part about this brand is that they constantly have new merchandise and they are designing with you in mind!

So, what do you think? Are you a fan of this brand? Have any other plus size brands that you love? Let me know!
