Hello Ladies,I hope you had a fabulous weekend! I spent the weekend consumed with work (2 photo shoots in one weekend), and burned several hours browsing the web. My calendar for the month of February is intense, and with Fashion Week quickly approaching, I need to start looking for a few outfits to see me through the shows, appointments, and parties. While doing my online shopping, I couldn’t help but be excited by the strides plus-size fashion is making online.
ASOS, The Online Fashion Store, just launched their Curve collection, which ranges from size 20 to 26. I have been a fan of ASOS since I found ASOS scattered throughout a fashion magazine while on vacation in Rome. Unlike many other plus-sized lines, Curve doesn’t deviate from the aesthetic of the rest of its “regular sized” clothing. I wanted just about every single item in the 40-piece collection. My absolute favorite: the ASOS Curve Long Leather Biker Jacket. Every curvy girl knows how difficult it can be to find a fashion-forward leather jacket that actually zips up. I will be sure to order this and a few other pieces ASAP.
Another online destination that had me reaching for my credit card this weekend was Evans. The brand has done a collection in conjunction with rock-icon-in-the-making Beth Ditto and is known as a staunch ally of the bigger girl. It’s clothing sizes range from 14 to 32, and its shoe line runs up to 10, with many pairs available in wide widths (can you hear the hallelujah chorus?). My absolute must-have from Evans is the Colourblock Zip Dress. It’s a perfect two-toned frock, capped off with an edgy exposed zipper. I can’t wait to add this dress to my closet!
When shopping online, be sure to look at the sizing chart. There is no standard sizing when it comes to us plus-size ladies. So know your measurements—you’ll save time returning stuff that wasn’t even close to fitting.
