Hollywood royalty and a certain type of It girl flock to designer Jenny Packham to outfit them for movie premieres, award shows, and other star-studded red carpet events. But of her impressive roster of A-list clients, she and fellow Brit, and actual royal, Kate Middleton truly are a match made in sartorial heaven.
The Duchess perfectly embodies the designer's classically feminine aesthetic and always dazzles whether in one of her bejeweled floor-length gowns, ladylike floral frocks, or the latest fern embellished dress she wore to a state dinner last week during the royal tour of New Zealand and Australia.

Although it's Packham's company policy not to discuss its bevy of celebrity clients, the designer admitted to WWD that it's hard to keep mum when it comes to KMidd (we hear that!). She told the publication that the Duchess has a great sense of style and a very British one. When asked if they work closely together, she replied "Absolutely. It's always quite a collaboration."

Because of their hands-on partnership, Packham usually knows when the Duchess will be wearing one of her pieces, but she is often off the grid when it actually happens. She was asleep when the fern dress was unveiled in New Zealand (granted it was half-way across the world) and she was traveling when Kate left the hospital with Prince George for the first time wearing a baby blue, polka dot Packham creation.

In non-royal-related Packham news, the designer opened and closed her bridal show last week with a plus-size model and will have her first ready-to-wear trunk show Thursday at Neiman Marcus in Los Angeles. It's certainly been a great year for both the designer and the Duchess.
