15 Years of Celebrity Couples Video
A look back at who our favorite stars have dated.
We wanted to do 15-year features in the magazine this year because we are celebrating 15 years of Marie Claire in America. So, we've done 15 years of hairstyle, of shoe styles, of fashion, of makeup, of celebrity couples; and they've changed more than anything.
I think celebrities get together with each other because the life that they lead is such an anomaly.
I feel like Drew Barrymore-- We could have done 4 pages on Derry Barrymore just alone with all the relationships that she's had. Obviously, they had to people that dated a lot. So, you know, we had Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez, Salma Hayek, and of course Jennifer Aniston.
Probably my favorite celebrity couple of all time is Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston. Anytime you date Brad Pitt, you're in the news. And anytime you date Jennifer Aniston, you're in the news. So, when the two of them came together, it was sort of the-- the King and Queen of the prom.
You know, it had to span 15 years so we wanted to get people that actually had a nice visual hit so you could go back and look at some of those funny hairstyles and everything too.
We're thrilled that Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson has lasted as long as and also Mr. and Mrs. Smith by whom I mean of course Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith.
And we also look at those couples that were like 5 seconds. The Liza Minnelli and David Gest, you know, fiasco.
It's a life with very little privacy and a life of travel. It's a life of excess, not knowing who your real friends are. And I think when two people who come together and have the-- have similar knowledge of that lifestyle becomes an easier relationship for them.
There's nothing more irresistible than reading about celebrity couples. And over the last 15 years, it's incredible how often they swap around.
Fashion resume is one of our [unknown] book pages that's kind of eye candy for the readers. It covers one celebrity every month. A lot of times celebrity get clothes before the designers have put them out in the store. So, some of your first glimpses at those clothes, of that new spring runway show, is on a celebrity.
It's really a way of looking at photos of a celebrity perhaps over the last 2 years and really chronicling their style development.
February, we did Camilla Belle. She's just someone who, you know, is very smart. She speaks 3 languages and, you know, she's involved in charity and I think it's just also really all about their style. She just takes these looks that are a little bit more avant-garde and a bit harder to pull off, you know, straight off the runway, not something that you're gonna see in your store necessarily and wears on-- and wears them well.
The celebrities who bring a natural style to things, Anne Hathaway, an actress who really broke through in the last year with Rachel Getting Married and who, I think, signature style has really developed into a very modern American classic.
So, it offers our reader a great opportunity to see these new trends with the celebrities that they know and love. And it's really looking at celebrities in the public eye right now for a certain movie or certain projects and just looking at the way their own personal style has evolved.
I love-- Really the only makeup that I usually wear is-- there's like a little Stila compact and you can just put it on your lips and your cheeks and so I-- I always have that in my purse. I love the Dr. Hauschka Body-- Rose Body Oil and I put it on almost every time I have a shower. I also like the fresh-- I have this little tub of sugar scrub, which is really great.
