It's a fact of life. People with straight hair want curls and people with curly hair long for straight locks. Thankfully, both are possible. We're going to show you how to straighten your curly hair, avoiding paying the big bucks at the salon. Step 1: After shampooing, apply a moisturizing conditioner then towel dry your hair. Step 2: Apply a quarter size amount of mousse all over your hair from your roots to your ends. Step 3: Time to blow dry. Make sure to blow dry in a downward motion, starting from the roots. If you have bangs, pull them tightly with your fingertips or using a round brush. Step 4: Divide your hair into 4 sections. Make sure they are cleanly separated. Use a wide-toothed comb if you need to. Step 5: Clip 3 sections off to the side and focus on the loose sections of hair. Using a large, round brush, pull the hair towards the floor. Make sure it's tight. Hold the dryer about 2 inches from the brush as you move it straight down. Step 6: When you get to the bottom, roll the hair out or flip it in. Mix this up in each section so that your hair doesn't look too uniform at the end. Step 7: Repeat this in all 4 sections. Step 8: A flat iron can ensure you get an absolutely flat look. Once your hair is dry, press small sections beginning at the roots all the way to the end. Try using a flat iron spray. Spread dry sections with spray before ironing. Step 9: To prolong these straight locks, use a silicone serum. Lightly apply a dime-size amount and focus mostly on the ends. Error on the side of too little. If you used too much, it can look greasy. Make sure you don't touch your hair too much or it will get frizzy. You're going to love the silky, smooth look.
