Kristin Davis Reacted to 'Sex and the City 3' Not Happening, and She’s Heartbroken

"I wish that we could have made the final chapter..."

The famous foursome from Sex and the City last appeared onscreen in 2010's Sex and the City 2. Since then, news of a third movie has dipped in and out of pop culture, until Sarah Jessica Parker announced that SATC 3 is officially not happening. Since then, both Kim Cattrall (who played Samantha) and Kristin Davis (who played Charlotte) have spoken out about the cancellation. And Davis is completely heartbroken.

For Cattrall, her hand was forced when reports that she was the one who "derailed" production leaked into the press. She denied the claims, sharing on Twitter, "Woke 2 a @MailOnline 💩storm! The only 'DEMAND' I ever made was that I didn't want to do a 3rd film....& that was back in 2016."

This is very much in line with Cattrall's other tepid reactions to SATC 3 rumors; back in January, she shared with People, "The hardest thing is, what would the story be? It’s been seven, eight years since we wrapped the last movie. Can we get everybody together? We’re all sort of scattered now... Are we still relevant? That would be the reason to come back."

Davis had a very different reaction, and she took to Instagram to share her nostalgic message with fans:

"I love to look back at the pics from our LONG history of Sex and the City. I am incredibly lucky to have gotten to play Charlotte through all of her ups and downs ( epitomized in one of my favorite episodes here).

It is true that we are not going to be able to make a 3rd film. I wish that we could have made the final chapter, on our own terms, to complete the stories of our characters. It is deeply frustrating not to able to share that chapter (beautifully written by MPK) with all of you.

So we will just have our memories, but please know that all of the love and support for us through the years is felt by us and we are so grateful for all of you!SATC forever in our hearts ❤️💗❤️💗❤️💗❤️💗"

Parker also commented that, "It's not just disappointing that we don't get to tell the story and have that experience, but more so for that audience that has been so vocal in wanting another movie." Only Cynthia Nixon (who played Miranda) has yet to break her SATC 3 silence. Will fans be able to change Cattrall's mind?
