The Queen Personally Invited Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to Join Her for Church

The monarch wanted to make sure they feel "welcome and loved."

The Queen (opens in new tab) is making a point to connect with Prince Harry (opens in new tab) and Meghan Markle (opens in new tab).

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex (opens in new tab) are currently in the United Kingdom to carry out their final engagements as working royals. Over the weekend, Queen Elizabeth (opens in new tab) took advantage of the couple's proximity and personally invited them to attend church with her.

Harry and Meghan were photographed arriving for Sunday morning service (opens in new tab) at The Royal Chapel of All Saints in Windsor.

"The Queen personally invited Harry and Meghan to join her for the service," a royal source told BAZAAR. "She has continuously made sure that they feel welcome and loved."

The invitation is part of the Queen's ongoing effort to ensure the Sussexes continue (opens in new tab) to feel like part of the royal family following their exit at the end of March.

"It was a really sweet gesture that the Queen asked them to church,” a source told People (opens in new tab) of the invitation. "It’s telling in the sense that these two are still her family. And as a family, they all love each other."

Harry and Meghan (opens in new tab) will celebrate Commonwealth Day (opens in new tab) on Monday, along with other senior-ranking members of the royal family.
