Laverne Cox to Host The T Word , a Documentary on Transgender Youth

The Emmy-nominated Orange Is The New Black actress will host Laverne Cox Presents: The T Word, a one-hour documentary following seven transgender youths ranging in age from 12 to 24.

"For many of us, the 'T' in LGBT means more than transgender, it also means truth," Cox said in a statement. "The cast members in this documentary are fearlessly living their truths and in sharing their stories will send the message to other trans youth that it's OK to be who you are."

After the program airs on MTV and Logo TV at 7 p.m. EST on Oct. 17, Cox and the cast of T Word will participate in a 60-minute "Trans Forum," during which they will answer questions from a live audience and viewers on social media.
