Brace Yourself: They're Making an Emoji Movie

*Praise hands emoji.* Literally.

Something we've *all* been waiting for: Hollywood is going to make an emoji movie, Deadline reports. Yes, you absolutely read that correctly. A movie based on the little icons you use in your text messages and social media posts is going to exist. If there ever was a time for the praise hands, it would definitely be now.

In case you're unconvinced of how much of a big deal this is, keep in mind there was an actual bidding war between three studios to get the rights to make the film. Sony Pictures ended up winning the pitch from writers Eric Siegel and Anthony Leondis (who directed Kung Fu Panda: Secrets of the Masters).

Of course, this is only in the very earliest stages of development and there are absolutely no details about plot or casting, but I'm sure the list of celebrities we are all dying to see immortalized as emojis is probably already huge. In fact, one of them already exists in emoji form, so maybe Hollywood could start right there?
