There is no doubt that Giorgio Armani's status measures that of a living icon and last night reconfirmed it. One Night Only New York was the Italian house's couture stamp on the concrete jungle, boasting years and years of his Giorgio Armani Privé collection. The SuperPier, located on NYC's Hudson River, played host to the extravaganza and is the lucky location to hold the Eccentrico exhibition, which dons Armani's top couture and accessories pieces over the years.
But the event itself was special. Guests received an extra dose of glamour with a full-fledged fashion show (which boasted over 100 looks!), detailing the history of the Privé collections from beginning to end. While tapered, floor length pencil skirts and sculptural headpieces seem to be a staple throughout the show, it was Armani's layers of tulle and radiant crystals that captivated a series of applause.
And if Armani's diamantes aren't catching your eye, perhaps his A-list crowd will. The designer lined his front row with Hollywood's elite including Leonardo DiCaprio, Hilary Swank, Naomi Watts, Renee Zellweger and Martin Scorsese; all of whom continued to the after party alongside Giorgio in his makeshift dance lounge DJ'd by Mark Ronson.
But don't feel left out - Luckily, Giorgio Armani is welcoming everyone to explore his Eccentrico Exhibition with free admission through October 27th.
