Bummer news, people: Lack of sleep shows up on your face pretty much immediately. In fact, a new UK study found that women who missed just *two hours* of sleep for less than a week faced some serious consequences when it came to their looks—including more visible wrinkles, enlarged pores, and redness. Lovely.
The biggest way too-little sleep takes its toll on your skin, according to Yahoo! Health, is by producing more cortisol, a stress hormone. Cortisol hampers the production of collagen, which in turn creates that not-so-delightful reflection you see in the mirror the morning after your 4 a.m. Netflix binge.
