Normally collections for resort — that season in between fall and spring that's also lovingly known as "cruise" — are shown quietly in presentations to buyers and editors by designers in their showrooms. Well, if Italian fashion house Salvatore Ferragamo has anything to do with it, that's all about to change.

The brand staged a full-fledged fashion show yesterday to present its Resort 2013 collection, and it was a production that could've taken place smack in the middle of Paris Fashion Week. With supermodels like Karolina Kurkova and Isabeli Fontana walking the runway and a front row packed with celebrities like Leighton Meester (our April cover girl!) and Hilary Swank, Ferragamo truly set the bar high for future resort seasons. Perhaps the most impressive thing: The event marked the very first time that the prestigious Parisian museum, the Louvre, has ever hosted a runway show.

The collection that Ferragamo's creative director Massimiliano Giornetti sent down the runway was exactly what we'd want to bring with us on a sunny, resort-season adventure: Bohemian, fringed skirts and dresses, light layers and leather separates, barely-there crocheted knits — all in neutral shades like peach, nude, and grey.

Visit ferragamo.com to view the entire collection, and check out these photos we've snagged from the show — if they don't make you yearn for a Mediterranean vacation, we don't know what will.
