The ultimate in budget travel is here: United Arab Emirates-based airline Etihad just launched a travel plan that allows you to fly now, pay later. You can officially spread out your payments up to five years through their partner, PayFort. So, if ever there's a time to go on a last-minute jet-setting adventure...it's probably now.
“When we were designing this product, we were really looking at how we can assist those low-to-medium income travelers and families,” said Justin Warby, Etihad Airways vice president for digital strategy and innovation, in a statement. “Of course, spreading the payment over a period of months is also a great way to indulge in premium cabins.”
AKA, people who have never flown first class or in private cabins can get the chance to experience a high-end flying experience, and pay for it in installments.
To book now, all you have to do is go through the online purchasing process and when you get to check out, select "Pay By Installment." You can then pick the payment period you're most comfortable with, anywhere from three to sixty months. Now, you just hop on your flight so you can have fun now and start paying it off later.
Although the idea is completely genius, for now it's only available through Etihad for customers who are residents of UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt. We wouldn't be surprised if budget airlines hopped on the travel trend next (*fingers crossed*).
