These are the next three lipsticks I'm going to try—signed, a red lipstick devotee.

I'm a serial lipstick dater. So many lip products slide onto my desk. Some I double-tap and have all the heart eyes for. Others I ghost and leave on seen. This is #BigLipstickEnergy, an honest breakdown of how I feel about the latest lip launches. Read on for the three lipstick flings I'm keeping in rotation for now. Next week, I'll have a new roster.

Slip Shine Sheer Shiny Lipstick in Tang Thang

Fenty Beauty
$22.00

THE DETAILS:

The first of July is in a matter of hours, which means it's time to fully embrace bright, summery shades if you haven't yet. Fenty Beauty's making it easy with the launch of a line of sheer lipsticks in soft neutrals and a few pops of color, like this pick. This tangy shade is perfect for those who aren't afraid of an orange-red-hybrid. Yes, you can wear orange lipstick, it just has to be the right one. The satiny formula coats your lips with buttery hydration. The finish? A lustrous, slick shine.

WHY I'M EYEING IT:

I'm in endless pursuit to channel Rihanna, and when she drops a new Fenty Beauty product, my ears perk up. The beauty queen has that kind of hold on me and honestly never lets me down. New York has been above 80 degrees all week and although I'm still staying inside for now, I'm planning for when the city fully reopens so I can rock RiRi-approved shades to match the season. When I can't be bothered with a high-maintenance look, effortless reds like this are always clutch.

Chanel
$38.00

THE DETAILS:

Adding to the brand's Rouge Coco Flash lipstick collection of hydrating, shiny and sheer colors, the new shades are just the thing you'll want to wear for summer brunch with friends. Think raspberry pink, brick orange, soft rose, golden orange, and bright red hues. Apparently, you'll be able to forgo balm altogether pre-application thanks to its incredibly moisturizing formula.

WHY I'M EYEING IT:

I'd be lying if I said a new red lipstick from Chanel doesn't excite me. Beyond its glitzy packaging, the lipsticks actually look divine once applied. Just like a spritz of Coco Mademoiselle ($135) and a few swipes of Chanel's Rouge Allure Lipstick in Passion ($38) make me feel like the ultimate lady, this new shade will do the same; I'm certain of it.

Major Beauty Headlines Matte Suede Lipstick in That's Why She's Late
Courtesy
Patrick Ta
$32.00

THE DETAILS:

It's easy to miss the mark with matte lipsticks—they're either dry, patchy, or straight-up uncomfortable. But the new range from celebrity makeup artist Patrick Ta will silence any and all critics. With its cozy, velvety finish and hydrating ingredients like ultra-fine pigments and optical diffusers, this new line is sure to carry you through the summer. My bet's on this bold red.

WHY I'M EYEING IT:

My face has been blessed by Patrick Ta's magical makeup artistry before. So, I feel forever indebted to his talents, which inform his namesake line that is full of glow-inducing products I'm already obsessed with. As a red lipstick fanatic, I'm excited to try this true red. It boasts a "blurred finish" because of its optical diffusers and has a blue undertone, which usually works gorgeously with dark skin tones. When it comes to application, the less time spent, the better for me. So, I'm sure I'll appreciate its intensely pigmented formula for one-swipe-and-go situations.
