Floral nail designs and pastels may be in for spring right now, but Halle Bailey is proving that there's nothing wrong with sticking to classic nail colors like luxe red.
The singer and actress is currently in the middle of a press run to promote her upcoming romantic comedy, You, Me & Tuscany, which officially releases on April 10. One of the stops on the tour was a visit to The Big Tigger Morning Show in Atlanta on April 1, where she dressed casual chic in an oversized white t-shirt with ripped blue jeans. Bailey kept her glam for the day pretty minimal and soft with strip lashes, filled-in brows, light complexion makeup, and a touch of gloss on her lips, but she really leaned into the romance theme with her nails, which were filed into a short, square shape and painted with a rich red polish.

Red is a classic nail color that's fitting for any season, mainly because it can be incorporated into a variety of designs and can be worn in several shades, from burgundy to bright, apple red. “Red is a universally flattering color with a wide range of undertones, making it easy to tailor to every skin tone,” celebrity nail artist Kim Truong previously told MC. It's also a really bold color that's often associated with confidence and romance, so it makes a lot of sense as to why Bailey decided to wear the color while promoting her new film.
