"In every job that must be done, you must be paid in more than fun."

As staunch Veronica Mars fans (opens in new tab), we don't need another reminder that Kristen Bell (opens in new tab) is the coolest — but we always welcome one.

In a new Funny or Die video, Bell gets a makeover to the tune of "A Spoonful of Sugar," in other words, she becomes Mary Poppins herself. Bell is spot-on, even giving Julie Andrews a run for her money, but there's a catch. She's not quite as cheery as the Poppins we know and love. In fact, she's fed up.

Much to the dismay of the Banks children, she's decided to quit her job now that her minimum wage salary is putting her below the poverty line. She croons her discontent, bird on her shoulder et al, and offers an easy solution: "Just a three dollar increase can make a living wage." Forget a spoonful of sugar, that would help the medicine go down. Now we're just waiting for Bell to tackle equal pay (opens in new tab) as The Little Mermaid.

Lauren is the former beauty editor at Marie Claire. She love to while away the hours at coffee shops, hunt for vintage clothes, and bask in the rough-and-tumble beauty of NYC. She firmly believes that solitude can be a luxury if you’ve got the right soundtrack—that being the Rolling Stones, of course.
