The Queen Is “So Grateful” for Kate Middleton’s Popularity Amid All the Royal Feud Rumors

It’s been a rough year!

Even if you’re not the biggest royal stan, you’ve no doubt heard a little about Prince William and Kate Middleton’s rumored feud with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. While the family tried to shut down these rumors time and time again, they keep sprouting from the tabloids like a Chia Pet. Amid all the nasty reports and people dragging Meghan and Harry for everything they’ve done during the past year or so, the queen is reportedly eternally grateful that Kate remains one of the public’s favorite royals.

According to sources of Vanity Fair’s royal correspondent Katie Nicholl, “the queen is a fan” of Kate despite reports that they don’t have an “intimate relationship.” The source continued, “Kate is unflappable. Her mantra is very like the queen’s keep calm and carry on approach in life, and she has the added benefit of making the royal family seem almost normal and in touch.”

Another one of Nicholl’s sources, a biographer named Claudia Joseph, drove this point home and said Kate is “very much the girl next door, from how she dresses to how she behaves and interacts with people on engagements,” so people think she’s relatable.

The first source also pointed out how Kate is able to ignore gossip, take care of her family, and do important royal work like going on international tours and working with organizations that are important to her, which is something the queen has taken note of.

Hinting at the rumored feud, Nicholl added, “Given some of the less positive coverage the royal family has had to endure over the summer, it’s perhaps no surprise that the queen is so grateful to the duchess, who remains one of the most popular members of the family.”

So, yeah, all of this pretty much lines up with what an Us Weekly source said earlier this week about how Kate hates that Meghan and Harry are “so miserable” because of all the harsh criticism, but she’s trying to “stay out of the drama.”
