Joe Alwyn and Taylor Swift have spent the last three years only talking about why they don’t talk about their relationship (opens in new tab) in interviews if they’re ever asked about it. But Alwyn actually said a few words about the Taylor Swift boyfriend experience in his new The Times (opens in new tab) interview.
Don't get too hyped: This was no tell-all. But the outlet’s reporter got him to talk about whether he cares that Swift writes lots of songs (opens in new tab) about him, to deny that Swift takes private jets to see him whenever she wants, and to once again talk about how he feels about people seeing him as Taylor Swift's boyfriend rather than just a British actor.
First of all, Swift will be spending time with Alwyn in London ahead of Christmas, the outlet revealed, only because The Times wrote that Swift "will be watching the mini-series [A Christmas Carol, in which Alwyn plays Bob Cratchit] with Alwyn and his family in London in the final days before Christmas."
Alwyn also said that, according to The Times, "99.9 percent of what the press write about them is false," including the claim Swift can fly to visit him on her private jet on a whim. Make what you will of that.
When asked if he minds that Swift writes songs about him (opens in new tab) (and how much she loves him), Alwyn said, “No, not at all. No. It’s flattering.”
Then finally, when asked whether he’s bothered that people are just as interested in his girlfriend as they are in him, Alwyn said, "I just don’t pay attention to what I don’t want to pay attention to. I turn everything else down on a dial. I don’t have any interest in tabloids. I know what I want to do, and that’s this, and that’s what I am doing.”
Okay, okay, Joe. And that was it this time!!!
