One moment you're working on your acting career, and the next you're set up on a blind date with a prince. As they say, the rest is history (literally). Meghan Markle's life has already gone through a series of changes while dating and becoming engaged to Prince Harry, but she's about to go through an even bigger transformation when she *officially* becomes royalty in May. From her strict fashion choices to no selfies (yes, it's a thing), here's 30 ways Meghan Markle's world is about to be turned upside down.

She won’t be an actress anymore.

In her and Prince Harry's engagement interview, Markle revealed she had decided to quit acting, which is clearly a huge part of her life. The Suits actress starred on the legal drama for seven seasons beginning in 2011. You can see the hilarious engagement news reaction from her co-star Patrick J. Adams here.

She’s going to have security with her at all times.

Not *quite* as intense as the Secret Service, but pretty close. Hello, bodyguards.

She can’t be active in politics.

Once you're married to a royal, you can't be active in politics or discuss specific political views publicly. They also don't vote and can't run for office. (So we won't be seeing President Markle in our lifetime.)

Her name will change (!!!).

Perhaps one of the most life-changing events she'll go through. Royals only use a first name, but she won't be considered a princess since she doesn't have royal blood. (Also bet ya didn't know her real name is actually Rachel Meghan Markle. 😱)

She *probably* won’t be able to attend any alumna events.

Markle graduated from Northwestern University in 2003 with a degree in theater and international studies. Her sorority, Kappa Kappa Gamma, just released this portrait of her from her sophomore year and it's gold.

She will receive terrorism training from the Special Air Service...

...where she'll pretend she's a hostage and learn how to handle any dangerous situations. So it seems those acting skills will come in handy.

Her once low-key humanitarian efforts will now be put in the spotlight.

“My mother raised me to be a global citizen, with eyes open to sometimes harsh realities,” she wrote in a post on her former lifestyle site, The Tig.

In 2016, she became the Global Ambassador for World Vision Canada, presented at United Nations Headquarters for the HeforShe Gender Equality Campaign in September 2014, and traveled to Afghanistan on a USO tour in December 2014. 👏

Speaking of The Tig, she had to shutdown her lifestyle website.

Though it's unclear whether she shut it down because she knew she was becoming a royal or simply didn't have enough time to manage it, she wrote a heartfelt message to her readers: "After close to three beautiful years on this adventure with you, it's time to say goodbye to The Tig. What began as a passion project (my little engine that could) evolved into an amazing community of inspiration, support, fun and frivolity."

She continues, "You've made my days brighter and filled this experience with so much joy. Keep finding those Tig moments of discovery, keep laughing and taking risks, and keep being 'the change you wish to see in the world.' Above all, don't ever forget your worth—as I've told you time and time again: you, my sweet friend, you are enough."

True story. It gets way too competitive between the royals, so the board game is banned.

She won’t be able to hold hands with Harry in public.

It’s typically frowned upon when you’re a royal. This is why you never see Prince William and Catherine holding hands. However, it wouldn't be the first time Harry and Meghan have broken protocol.

Nothing to see here.

There's no such thing as casually going out in public anymore.

Prince Harry and Meghan had to lay low in Nottingham Cottage for months (that's where they got engaged😍), and the world is continuing to watch the couple's every move. Markle admitted she was "unprepared for the scrutiny."

She fully intends on becoming a British citizen.

The British Royal family has confirmed this. There’s also a theory that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s future children could become British royalty AND be able run for U.S. president (!!!).

Her dogs will also become royalty.

Markle will officially have royal pups come May. It was initially thought that both dogs would move to the UK with her, but unfortunately Markle had to leave one of her dogs with close friends in Canada because he is too old to fly. 😓

She has to follow the Queen’s lead.

If the Queen stands, Meghan stands. P.S. they have met multiple times, and the Queen totally approves of her. Here's hoping we catch a glimpse of them together soon!
