Emily Blunt was perfectly cast to succeed Julie Andrews in the title role in Disney's Mary Poppins sequel, but other than a quick teaser released last March, we haven't seen much of the A Quiet Place star in her super-nanny glory.
But all of that changes today, because Disney just released the full, official first trailer for Mary Poppins Returns, and all 2:27 minutes make me want to prance down Portobello Road with a magical umbrella.
Goosebumps? Same. The supercalifragilisticexpialidocious sequel picks up 25 years after the original, when Mary Poppins returns (get it?) just as Michael Banks (Ben Whishaw) and his children mourn the death of his wife and, potentially, the loss of their home. (But with no shortage of singing, dancing, and cartoon penguins because hello! This is Disney magic, people.)
The all-star cast also includes Lin-Manuel Miranda, Meryl Streep, Colin Firth, and Dick Van Dyke (who played Bert in the 1964 original), and the film hits theaters on December 19. C'mon! It's so good.
