1. Run a lap (it could be around your house or block), pumping arms up and down.
2. Stake out a small hill, about 100 yards (it doesn't need to be steep). Sprint up, then take an easy jog down. Repeat three times.
3. Find the closest stretch of snow pileup. Using the claws in the front of the snowshoes to dig into the snow, step up and down the pile in a zigzag pattern, from one end of the snowbank to the other.
