Here are a few of our top picks for keeping your pucker soft and pretty throughout the rest of this (hopefully short) winter.
Lip Treatment: Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment Advanced Therapy ($25)
This "therapy" balm was the Gold Winner for our 2013 Anti Aging Awards: Skin Products. A tester favorite, it was found to soften and condition lips, and even helped with fine lines around the lips after four weeks of use. Testers also loved its slightly "lemony" scent and flavor.
Lip Balm: Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm ($7)
This natural, drugstore choice is a tinted balm that will keep lips feeling soft while also providing a hint of sheer color, available in nine shades. Our testers loved its texture, how easily it went on, and how it made their lips feel.
This lipstick was the Gold Winner of our 2012 Anti Aging Awards for Makeup. Our testers felt it was moisturizing, and left lips feeling soft and smooth, unlike most lipsticks, which tend to be more drying than moisturizing.
Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm ($9)
Like lipsticks, people can find these to be drying, but testers overwhelmingly thought this felt moisturizing while leaving lots of color payoff and a glossy finish. A great find at the drugstore, it's available in ten shades.
Personal Favorite: Smith's Rosebud Salve ($6)
I finally caved and tried this cult favorite last winter and I'm a complete convert. The age-old cheapie prevents my lips from peeling like nothing I've ever tried. It also doesn't hurt that the product comes in an adorable, vintage tin (also available in tube form) that looks cute sitting on your nightstand or vanity.
Now, who else is ready for flip flop season?
