I'm a serial lipstick dater. So many lip products slide onto my desk. Some I double-tap and have all the heart eyes for. Others I ghost and leave on seen. This is #BigLipstickEnergy, an honest breakdown of how I feel about the latest lip launches. Read on for the three lipstick flings I'm keeping in rotation for now. Next week, I'll have a new roster.

UOMA Beauty Black Magic Carnival Lipstick in Trinidad
UOMA Beauty ulta.com

One of the biggest celebrations of festival culture in the Caribbean is Trinidad and Tobago's annual Carnival. And lots of music, dancing, and masquerade dressing calls for a party lipstick to match the occasion. Uoma Beauty created a limited edition Black Magic Carnival Lipstick, and this fuschia shade coated in shimmer has me wishing I could make the trip.

Although I haven't been to Trinidad's Carnival (yet), a girl can dream...and wear this lipstick in the meantime. I've scrolled through enough Carnival photos on Instagram to know that this satin-textured, sparkly lipstick is definitely the vibe. It's not your standard sparkly lipstick that can't hold up—it's made with minerals and vitamins that moisturize and nourish your lips. Plus, the reflective effect will make you want to selfie away.

Dior Addict Stellar Lip Gloss
Dior sephora.com

Lip gloss devotees are aware of how Dior does lip gloss: very well. It's because their formulas never sacrifice lip care for lip shine (more on that in a second). The brand's latest take on a damn-good gloss is the Dior Addict Stellar Lip Gloss. "The next-generation lip shine that delivers eight hours of unparalleled shine," as described by the brand. From muted neutrals to vivid springtime shades, the color choice is yours.

Texture-wise, aloe vera, oils, and waxes put this lip gloss in a league of its own. But if we're talking color, this mauve-rose-plum hybrid swept me off my feet. It's just so good. The shine on this thing is blinding and it feels like a balm, which makes it even better for all-day wear. This shade is going to be my springtime staple.

Essential Hydrating Lip Oil
Jouer Cosmetics sephora.com

Lip oils are alive and thriving! And you, my friend, should try one if you haven't yet. This lush oil is comprised of apricot and jojoba seed along with vitamin E for a dose of antioxidants. Upon initial contact, it'll make your lips feel super soft and plush. After a while, it sinks in and will leave your lips feeling hella moisturized.

I can't get enough body oil so it's no surprise that I'm a lip oil convert too. I've been using this newbie from Jouer Cosmetics as a primer for a bold color to follow. I swipe on a few layers of this and let it marinate, so my lips can soak up all of the hydration. Then, I apply a (less forgiving) texture, like matte or liquid lipstick, yet my lips legit don't feel dry or crack for hours. Thank me later.
