Eva Mendes appeared on Access Daily yesterday, where she did something she seldom does: talk at length about her private life with her partner Ryan Gosling and their two little girls, Esmeralda, 5, and Amada, 3.

Mendes didn't hold back talking about the experience. "Oh gosh, it’s so fun and beautiful and maddening. It’s maddening," she said. “It’s so hard, of course. But it’s like that feeling of like, really, you end your day, you put them to bed, and Ryan and I kind of look at each other like, ‘We did it, we did it. We came out relatively unscathed, you know?’"

Their daughters are into everything right now, she added. “Oh, I have no idea [if they have the acting bug]," she said. "Right now, they have every bug. They just like a lot of arts and crafts, a lot of painting. We have instruments around. They pick them up, and we can’t say they actually play anything, but you know, it’s just a playful environment, and it’s a lot of fun but who knows?”

She also addressed her and Gosling's date nights and how they take a lot of work to happen. "It takes a lot of prep [for a date night]," she said. "You have to make sure...you have it all lined up. But luckily, we have a lot of family support—a lot of family. My family lives here. His family comes in. They live in Canada, but they come in all the time and stay for a very long time, and it’s very welcomed. And so we have that support.”

And she admitted that she would absolutely be down to work with her husband. “He’s just such a creative genius," she said. "There’s always stuff going on there, but I would love to at any time. I would audition for him any day so—that was a joke. I don’t need to audition for him." That said, Mendes told the hosts she "loved" the experience working with him before.
