- On Christmas Day in 2019, Kate Middleton stepped out along with her husband, Prince William, and the other senior members of the royal family for their annual Christmas walk to attend service at St Mary Magdalene in Sandringham.
- The day was special for the Cambridge family as it marked the first time that Will and Kate's two oldest kids, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, participated in the Christmas walk.
- Kate dressed her kids in adorable, dark green ensembles, but she admitted to one royal fan that she regretted her own outfit choice for the day—a heavy, grey Catherine Walker coat, green hat, bag, and heels.
Kate Middleton always looks amazing, but even she has days when she suffers from outfit regret. One of those days was last Christmas, apparently.
Christmas 2019 was a big year for the Cambridge family. Not only did Prince William and Kate Middleton step out, along with the other senior royals, for the royal family's annual Christmas walk to attend service at St Mary Magdalene in Sandringham, but their oldest children joined them. It wasn't the first time Prince George and Princess Charlotte attended church on Christmas, of course, but it was their first time participating in the royal tradition of walking to church flanked by spectators for the first time.
Kate dressed Prince George and Princess Charlotte perfectly for the occasion. Both kids wore adorable, coordinating dark green ensembles, with George in a smart little suit and Charlotte in a green coat that looked like it could have come right out of Kate's own closet.
Kate looked amazing, as usual, in her own outfit for the day—a heavy, grey Catherine Walker coat, with a green hat, bag and heels.
Apparently, however, Kate wasn't a huge fan of the look. When chatting with a 19-year-old royal fan named Rachel Anvil, the Duchess of Cambridge said it was the wrong outfit for the weather that day.
"Kate was talking to my daughter about clothes and how she was feeling too hot, she said 'I really shouldn’t have worn this,'" Rachel's mother told Metro. "I’m there talking to Charlotte about dolls and my daughter’s talking about fashion with Kate. It wasn’t fake it was a genuine discussion, it was about a minute but it was tailored to my daughter, it was like speaking to a friend. They are totally different with the public."
To be fair, we've all been there.
