Almost a month from now, Project Runway will premiere its ninth season (set your DVRs for July 28 at 9 p.m. EST, stat), but the hit show kicked things off today with its first-ever live open-to-the-public runway show.
This morning, judges Heidi Klum, Michael Kors, and Marie Claire's own fashion director Nina Garcia braved the gray clouds in Manhattan's Battery Park for an outdoor show alongside special guest judge Kim Kardashian. What we loved best? That they all color-coordinated in the official color of New York City: black!
We also loved that every single one of the judges was hitting up Twitter nonstop with the play-by-play, including a spoiler from Garcia: "This season will kick off with 20 designers, the most in series history."
But the bigger spoiler is what actually went down the runway. And from the looks of it, the bar for this season is set mighty high…
